I actually love what i do!
🤗🤗🤗
Ok, so let me take you back to April 2020. Pandemic hits, my flight-attendant job was hanging on by a thin, thin thread. My flying hours were almost non-existent. My main source of income could not sustain me anymore.
I started looking for remote opportunities and luckily, I was able to supplement my income.
It was a random WFH gig where I was doing admin stuff for an Amazon store. As days go by, they asked me to start designing pins for Pinterest, conceptualize packaging design for upcoming products and it rekindled my love for design.
A quick back story: I took up Computer Science in Uni and I've always loved doing the interfaces with our projects.
Fast forward to 2021, I started applying for more design gigs online. I was doing social media content for restaurants and fitness gyms. The agency I worked for eventually taught me how to run ads on Facebook. One thing led to another and I started getting more clients.
aight, a lil meme break. i feel like i'm yapping way too much alreadyyy ✌🏻

So fast forward to 2022, I had the opportunity to do a bit of everything (from ops, design, ads) with a suitcase brand from Germany.
✱ I ran their ads
✱ created content for their social media
✱ organized a photoshoot for their new campaign (this was a first for me with no guidance from anyone so this was challenging as hell, but I loved every moment of it.)
and the moment that changed everything? They let me do a mockup redesign their website. I was in my zone. Ya girl was in a flow state. 🧘🏻♀️
SPOILER ALERT: I'M ABOUT TO RANT 🤣

Doing all these gigs exposed me to different work cultures — and maaan, it made me realize I want a soft, slow life.
I was raised in a culture where overworking is glorified, as if being tired and busy is a badge of honor. NOPE. NOT FOR ME.
Some of the work cultures I encountered ran on hustle:
❌ 24/7 availability
❌ constant go-mode
❌ non-stop calls EVEN after working hours.

For a long time, I thought that was just how work was. The always-on, never-off version of ambition. And I genuinely respect the drive behind it: the commitment, the intensity, the fire.
But I learned that admiring something and thriving in it are two very different things. I can appreciate the hustle without wanting to live inside it, and honestly, that realization changed everything. It's not a knock on anyone who thrives in it. It's just me finally listening to what I actually needed.
When I started working with clients in Europe, US and Australia, the vibe was completely different. I WAS SHOCKED (in a good way)
✅ Hard stop at 5?
✅ Not messaging me on weekends. 😱
✅ Actually disconnect on vacation?
✅ Quality over logged hours?

my initial reaction: "wait… that's allowed?? am i lazy?? why am i still getting my full salary when i didn't even overwork myself??" 😭 my body was genuinely bracing for weekend messages & calls. "why is my Slack so quiet?? am i being silently cut off from work??"
turns out, i was just so used to it i thought it was the norm. girl, i was WRONG. 💀
And being the way that i am, i started digging into why this work culture felt so different (but in a good way 👀).
I fell down an internet rabbit hole and found this book 👇🏼

📕 Lagom: The Swedish Art of Living a Balanced, Happy Life by Niki Brantmark.
It gave a name to what I was as low-key craving. The sweet spot between hustle and harmony. Lagom basically means "not too little, not too much"
I applied all the things I learned in this book in my personal life and work.
Honestly a game changer. I was less drained, and my creative work actually got better.
Soo long story short: You don't have to burn out to deliver results.
So I made it official: I gave birth to my little remote creative studio named "Lagom Design Lab" (now Unfussy Studios).
By late 2025, the mission was solid, but the name needed a glow-up. Lagom Design Lab became Unfussy Studios.
After embracing the concept of Lagom, I realized the best outcomes come from a specific kind of collaboration.
I love partnering with founders and brands who see me as an extension of their team — a collaborator invested in a shared goal, not just an order-taker. 🤝
That means...
✱ clear communication
✱ mutual trust
✱ and a shared commitment to the best strategic outcome.
A team dynamic where ideas flow freely, feedback is constructive, and the process itself is energizing — all while maintaining healthy work-life boundaries. ✨
Because the right collaboration should be effortless.
That's the core of Unfussy Studios:
✱ skip the fluff, and get straight to the good stuff. ✱
THANKS FOR LISTENING TO MY TED TALK.
Sooo...
For 2026 and beyond, my core operating principle for life and work is this:
you can't pour from an empty cup.
Rest and work-life balance aren't luxuries. They're what makes me work better. When other parts of my life are fulfilled, my output follows. Sustainable creativity blooms from focused calm, not frantic scrambling.
Unfussy Studios channels the relentless drive I deeply respect through a balanced, intentional framework — proof that you can build something brilliant without breaking yourself.
Two things can exist at the same time, babes.
1️⃣ You can have passionate dedication and healthy boundaries.
2️⃣ You can achieve exceptional work through clarity and calm, not chaos.
Aight, peace out. Live Laugh Luuurv! 🫶🏼
